Our Story
A Yorkshire Studio with a
National Outlook
An Eye for Design has grown from a local interior design service into a trusted interior design studio working across the UK and the Isle of Man. We are proud of our achievements but firmly believe that you are only as good as your last project. That belief pushes us to deliver our best on every single one.
Michèle Wraith leads the interior design service and will be your main point of contact. With over 30 years of experience, Michèle brings deep expertise and a personal touch to each project. Our projects span a wide range of spaces from unique homes and inspirational restaurants, to offices designed to enhance well-being and improve collaboration. Whether you need help creating an inviting reception, designing a bespoke kitchen, luxury bathroom retreat or a vintage café, we have the ability to remove the stress and create your vision.

Our inspiration comes from a mix of lived experience, architecture and the natural world. Living and working in East Yorkshire keeps us grounded and creative, surrounded by landscapes that remind us of the importance of balance and simplicity.

Where We Work
Our studio is based in a peaceful East Yorkshire village, but our design work reaches far beyond. We take on interior design projects throughout Yorkshire, the wider UK and the Isle of Man, each with its own story and sense of place.
What's Important to Us
Design for well being and mental health. An area of design that is personal to us. Having lived experience with dementia in older persons, we feel that design for mental and physical wellbeing is often overlooked. Simple changes can actively enhance and improve the quality of lives of many.
Standard such as WELL building and Design in Mental Health are dedicated to advancing this cause, and something we follow where possible.

Behind the Scenes
Michele is a visiting lecturer, at York St Johns University as well as an Industry ambassador for Creative Careers where she uses her experience to promote a deeper understanding of the subject and through workshops and careers talks in schools across Yorkshire. Some teacher feedback:

She led a very informative introduction and overview to An Eye for Design and what leading a career in interior design entails.
